Who doesn’t love the effortless third trimester glow? The plump & smooth skin radiating from within was one of the highlights of my pregnancy. Soon after the arrival of the baby, the glow just vanished!!! Skincare routine gets pretty much f*cked up because bath time goes for a toss (consider yourself lucky if you get to shower or brush every day).

The sudden change in hormones, reduced water intake, less fluid retention by body and many other factors lead to a dry – dehydrated skin which is flaky as well! None of the home remedy worked for me.The only thing that was a good hydrating facial from Geetanjali salon. They suggested me Skeyndor’s face cleanser, a hydrating mist and a cream but, as I couldn’t keep up with a good skincare routine, the good skin post facial started to fade away.

The facials are expensive AF and I couldn’t afford to go for them every month. While looking for a solution for my skin condition, i thought of giving sheet masks a try when I happened to come across Nykaa’s Luxe Store in Gaur City Mall. The store has a wide range of sheet masks from different brands. I straight away asked for a mask for dehydrated skin and I was suggested to go for Nykaa Pearl And Hyaluronic Acid. I was trying a sheet mask for the very first time and got two of Nykaa Pearl And Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Masks home.

After reaching home as soon as my lil bub fell asleep, I cleansed my skin, ripped the pack open, slightly squeezed out excess serum and put the sheet on my face and waited for the next 20 minutes to pass by. If you google, these masks are loaded with active ingredients and the sheet doesn’t let them evaporate when the temperature of the skin rises which in turn helps in penetrating deeper into the skin. When after 20 mins I removed the Nykaa Pearl And Hyaluronic Acid Sheet Mask, I was surprised to see how bright and plump my skin was, even my partner noticed the glow!! None of the expensive skin care worked so well for my skin which a 100₹ mask did (if you buy 5 masks, you get 5 free and that makes each mask cost ₹50). The glow lasts for 2-3 days.

While purchasing I didn’t pay any attention to the ingredient list but, now that I have 10 of these, I found out that it contains alcohol as one of its ingredients. What I read online and found is that all alcohols are not bad for the skin, it is basically there to make the texture less sticky and also to prevent serum from drying out.

Nykaa Skin Secrets Sheet Mask 2

On my second visit I ended up buying variations of Nykaa’s Sheet Masks. I have tried the collagen and grapefruit as well but as of now dehydration is my main concern, I love the Pearl and Hyaluronic one. The main function of Hyaluronic acid is to keep the tissues on the skin supple and retain water.

Nothing beats a healthy lifestyle! These masks are just quick fixes. So if you want a glow like pregnancy, you need to eat and drink as healthy as possible just like when one is pregnant! 🙂

The Body Shop’s Cocoa Butter Shower Cream has been my favourite for over a decade. After having used it for 5 years, I did try other shower creams but always came back to this one until the day I tried products from The Body Shop’s Almond Milk & Honey range (it was a gift). Innisfree Wine Jelly Sleeping Pack

Since the launch of the Korean brand Innisfree in India, I have become a regular consumer of their products. I am in love with their skin care range and currently using the third bottle of Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Essence. Let’s get back to sleeping packs. I had heard a lot about sleeping packs but never purchased any as I wasn’t sure whether they work. After having used 2 sample tubes of Innisfree Wine Jelly Sleeping Pack that I received with purchases made at Innisfree store, it became another staple in my night time routine. Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash

Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash is my very first product from the brand Kiehl’s. It has gel like consistency with mild floral fragrance. A little amount of the face wash goes a long way, I use half a pump for my entire face and neck (I have a sensitive-combination skin type). It is very gentle on the face, removes all the makeup and impurities with ease, doesn’t leave any residue and skin feels soft after using it without any tightness. I have been using it for past one month. Continue reading “Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash”

Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Essence

I have a sensitive-combination skin type. The t-zone and cheeks get extremely oily during warm and humid weather. During winter season, moisturizing creams make my t-zone oily. I was looking for something that could hydrate my skin without making the t-zone oily and has anti-ageing properties as well. In the past I have used Lancome’s Advanced Genifique (a serum I loved to the core), but this time I didn’t want to splurge on luxury. So, one fine day at the Innisfree store I told the attendant what my concerns were, then he suggested me Jeju Lava Seawater Essence. I tried it at the back of my hand and instantly loved the texture. An essence is more light weight and a little less concentrated than a serum. Using essence is an important part of the Korean skincare routine. Continue reading “Innisfree Jeju Lava Seawater Essence”
